Focusing on the issue of antiretrovals, is it feasible to let millions of people die in the developing countries just because they cannot afford the available medications? Should even more millions of children watch their parents degenerate into a bag of bones, before finally succumbing to death; just because a patent owner wants his profit? The article addresses a man in a developed country pointing a finger at pharmacy companies, while such action cannot be totally justified, the fact that human lives are in the balance as opposed to human comfort makes the pharmas a candidate for scrutiny. I agree with the r&d consideration, yet submit also that in the circumstances involving epidemics, and exception to the general rule needs to be established.
